How big of an RV will fit at the Cisco Brewery Harvest Host in New Hampshire?

To put things into perspective about our experiences, I think it’s helpful to know what type of RV we are traveling in. We made this trip in our 2014 Newmar Mountain Aire Class A RV. We have a Hydralift Platform on the back to carry our golf cart, and we’re towing a 2019 Chevy Equinox. Our braking system on the SUV is a Stay-N-Play using a Blue Ox Tow bar.

Without the Hydralift and SUV in tow, our Big Rig is 44 feet long, 8.5 feet wide, and 12’10” high. We have a 450 Cummins diesel engine on a Freightliner tag axle chassis. Our RV weighs approximately 47,000 pounds loaded.

What Trip Planner Did We Use?

We selected RV Trip Wizard to help us plan our routes. It is a paid subscription membership and this is our first trip using it. We’ll write a detailed review of our experience with it later, but so far for $40 per year, it seems worth it!
Does RV Trip Wizard show locations for Harvest Hosts in New Hampshire? Yes, the great thing about this trip planner is that it includes all Harvest Host Locations!

What RV GPS Are We Using?

We are currently using the Garmin 770 GPS. We’ve found that it sometimes sends us down difficult routes that are not the safest place for our size RV. While some of the routes are passable, that doesn’t mean they are the easiest to maneuver with our size rig towing an SUV. We will do a detailed post showing some of the routes our Garmin took us in the future.

When is the Cisco Brewery Open?

Cisco Brewery Portsmouth pub and bar is open Thursday-Sunday from 12 pm to 8 pm. If you want to stay as a Harvest Host member Monday-Wednesday, make sure you email them to see if they can accommodate you.

What Is There To Do In Portsmouth New Hampshire?

Portsmouth is named after the first settlement on the Piscataqua River, a 12-mile-long river on the border of Maine and New Hampshire, which grew into a major port town.  There’s a lot to see in this seacoast town including the unusual 10-acre Strawbery Bake Museum dedicated to 300+ years of American waterfront history. This interesting mid-20th century museum is an entire neighborhood of preserved homes and businesses.

Some of the structures are decorated according to the era, and there are costumed artisans and interpreters demonstrating boat-building, crafts, and cooking.

Next to Strawbery Banke is Prescott Park, a beautiful annual flower garden right on the harbor.

At the end of the flower garden, there is a small cemetery dating back to 1671 called the Point of Graves Burial Grounds. It’s one of six historic cemeteries that the City of Portsmouth owns and maintains where many prominent citizens and founders are buried.

If history isn’t your thing, there’s also Market Square with lots of shopping, art galleries, and boutiques.
