RVing Wyoming In The Painted Hills-Longhorn Ranch Lodge

RV Stories From The Road Series- West Coast

In our RV trip across the West Coast, we made several stops in Wyoming. Our second stop in Wyoming was outside of the cute little western town of Dubois. The Park’s name was the Longhorn Ranch Lodge and RV Resort.

Can Big Rig RVs Camp at Longhorn Ranch?

Yes, the sites are long, wide, and spacious and have plenty of room for large RVs.

We travel in a 45-foot Class A RV towing an SUV. Not all RV Parks can accommodate Big Rigs like ours. Our stories about the parks we have visited will be about those that can handle larger RVs.

What Are The RV Sites Like?

This was one of our favorite campgrounds right outside the town of Dubois (Dew-Boyz) Wyoming at the foot of the Painted Hills. The sites were gravel but quite level and there were plenty of well-trimmed shade trees. Out site backed the Wind River.  You can choose full hookup to no hookup RV sites.

Since RV rates vary based on season and RV size, we do not include rates as they may not be current. Please contact the park to obtain current rates and availability.

Can Big Rigs Camp At Longhorn Ranch?

Yes, the sites are plenty long enough for large RVs. They stagger the campsites so there is plenty of room in between them.

Is Internet Access Available At The RV Park?

Since internet access is so important to all of us these days, we decided to include our experience in using the parks’ internet (if provided) and which services worked best between the top 3 carriers.

  • RV Park Provided Internet– worked ok, but not really for streaming.
  • Verizon- Worked well, plenty of signal for email and streaming.
  • AT&T– Worked well, plenty of signal for email and streaming.
  • T-Mobile/Sprint– Worked well, plenty of signal for email and streaming.

What Amenities Are At The Longhorn Ranch Lodge and RV Resort?

The Park has a cute store selling souviers and necessities, a dog exercise area, laundry, a propane filling station and even horse corrals. You can book a horseback trail ride through the office.
The park is located right on the Wind River. There are fishing, rafting, and other water sport activities.

How Difficult Is It To Get Into the RV Park?

The Park is located on the very well-maintained Highway 26. It’s an easy turn into the park with plenty of room for big rigs.

What Is There To Do Near The Park?

There are lots of outdoor activities near the park including flyfishing, birdwatching, river floats and great driving tours through the Painted Hills and the small western town of Dubois just 3 miles away.
Here are some driving distances to help you plan your trip:

  • The Grand Tetons National Park- 49 miles
