RV Stories From The Road Series- West Coast

In our RV trip across the West Coast, we made several stops in Wyoming. The first stop was just outside Casper, Wyoming. Read on to learn about the Rivers Edge RV Park.

We travel in a 45-foot Class A RV towing an SUV. Not all RV Parks can accommodate Big Rigs like ours. Our stories about the parks we have visited will be about those that can handle larger RVs.

Can Big Rigs Camp At Rivers Edge?

Yes, the sites are long enough for large RVs. We did have to unhook our tow vehicle.

What Are The RV Sites Like?

This is an RV Campground with relatively level gravel sites and gravel roads with little to no grass and no trees or shade. The Park is located on the North Platte River and fishing is allowed. You can choose full hookup to no hookup RV sites.

Since RV rates vary based on season and RV size, we do not include rates as they may not be current. Please contact the park to obtain current rates and availability.

Is Internet Access Available At The RV Park?

Since internet access is so important to all of us these days, we decided to include our experience in using the parks’ internet (if provided) and which services worked best between the top 3 carriers.

  • RV Park Provided Internet– was not very good. Could occasionally check email.
  • Verizon- Worked well, plenty of signal for email and streaming.
  • AT&T– Worked well, plenty of signal for email and streaming.
  • T-Mobile/Sprint– Worked well, plenty of signal for email and streaming.

What Amenities Are At River’s Edge?

The Park offers full and limited hookup sites and is located right on the North Platte River just a couple of miles from Casper. They have a laundromat, playground, basketball court and you can swim and fish in the river. There is no pool but there is a patio and picnic shelter area.

The convenient location to Casper made this an easy stop on our route westward.

There are lots of outdoor activities near the park including hiking Casper Mountain, biking, and fishing or kayaking in one of Wyoming’s best-kept secrets- Fremont Canyon.
