RV Stories From The Road Series- Wyoming Road Trip

On our RV trip across the West Coast, we made several stops in Wyoming. The first stop was just outside Casper, Wyoming. Read on to learn about the Rivers Edge RV Park.

We travel in a 45-foot Class A RV towing an SUV. Not all RV Parks can accommodate Big Rigs like ours. Our stories about the parks we have visited will be about those that can handle larger RVs.

Wyoming Road Trip- Can Big Rigs Camp At Rivers Edge?

Yes, the sites are long enough for large RVs. We did have to unhook our tow vehicle.

Wyoming Road Trip- What Are The RV Sites Like?

This is an RV Campground with relatively level gravel sites and gravel roads with little to no grass and no trees or shade. The Park is located on the North Platte River and fishing is allowed. You can choose full hookup to no hookup RV sites.

Since RV rates vary based on season and RV size, we do not include rates as they may not be current. Please contact the park to obtain current rates and availability.

Wyoming Road Trip- Is Internet Access Available At The RV Park?

Since internet access is so important to all of us these days, we decided to include our experience in using the parks’ internet (if provided) and which services worked best between the top 3 carriers.

  • RV Park Provided Internet– was not very good. Could occasionally check email.
  • Verizon- Worked well, plenty of signal for email and streaming.
  • AT&T– Worked well, plenty of signal for email and streaming.
  • T-Mobile/Sprint– Worked well, plenty of signal for email and streaming.

Wyoming Road Trip- What Amenities Are At River’s Edge?

The Park offers full and limited hookup sites and is located right on the North Platte River just a couple of miles from Casper. They have a laundromat, playground, basketball court and you can swim and fish in the river. There is no pool but there is a patio and picnic shelter area.

The convenient location to Casper made this an easy stop on our route westward.

How Difficult Is It To Get Into the RV Park?

The Park is located just off of Hwy 25. Access is easy with 2 simple turns into the entrance. This Park is located in an industrial area and there was some construction-type noise throughout the night.

What Is There To Do Near The Park?

There are lots of outdoor activities near the park including hiking Casper Mountain, biking, and fishing or kayaking in one of Wyoming’s best-kept secrets- Fremont Canyon.

What Is the Closest Town to River’s Edge?

The closest town is Casper which is 7 miles away. It’s a simple drive on Highway 25 South and all supplies including restaurants, grocery, shopping, and hardware services can be found here.
