Only 10 minutes away from Boone, NC this park also offers Teepee and Cabin rentals if you want guests to join you but don’t have room in your RV. Blue Bear Mountain is at 4,000’ elevation so there are always cool mountain breezes and this park is open all year long.

Another stunning luxury motorcoach development that offers views and water access to a stocked private onsite lake and stream for fishing! There’s also a 2-acre bird and butterfly sanctuary with walking trails.

5 Luxury RV Resorts in Asheville and the Foothills Region of North Carolina

With all that Ashville and the Blue Ridge Mountains have to offer in this region of North Carolina, you could spend your entire RV vacation here. The stunning landscape and spectacular waterfalls are a favorite among travelers and Asheville is also home to the Biltmore, America’s largest home.

River’s Edge promotes itself as being Big Rig Friendly having been designed by Big Rig owners and with sites that start at 50×125 feet, we would not disagree. They are not Class A only, but they get great reviews.

Rutledge Lake RV Resort is also Big Rig friendly and has lakeside sites. Their site says they can accommodate up to a 40’ RV, but when I called them they said that they could actually handle larger 45’+ RVs. This resort is not a Class A only RV park.


If you enjoy waterfront RV sites, you might enjoy a trip to the Florida Keys where there are over 23 RV Parks. Not all can accommodate Big Rigs, but all are waterfront!

Don’t confuse this one with the RV park in Florida that has a similar name, they offer premium mountain top sites. This is not a Class A only resort, but they also get great reviews and actively encourage and cater to RV rally groups.

Not a Class A only resort, but it gets great reviews is Mama Gertie’s located in the Foothills. There are premium mountaintop sites available April 1st – October 31st.

The Central Piedmont Region of North Carolina offers wineries, breweries and over 40 world-class golf courses in a 15-mile radius. This area is also home to Lake Norman, North Carolina’s “Inland Sea” which, with 520 miles of shoreline, is the largest man-made lake in the state. Take some time to enjoy some boating and you might even catch a glimpse of Normie, the Lake Norman Sea Monster!

Located on Lake Norman as the name implies, this resort focuses on all of the water activities that the lake has to offer. In addition to RV sites, they also have tiny homes and lakefront cabins on the property. This is not a Class A only resort

2 Luxury RV Resorts on the East Coast of North Carolina

The Outer Banks of North Carolina gets very busy in the summer and there are several RV parks located there. I researched them and came up with two that are highly rated and offer easy beach access.

These two RV Resorts can accommodate Class A RVs. One is oceanfront on one side, to sound front on the other side, and the other is right on the beach! Note that there is no shade at these parks, but plenty of beach.

Camp Hatteras is a family-oriented park that is located on Hatteras Island and has the Pamlico Sound on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other! If you want to be close to the water, this may be a park for you. It is not a Class A only resort, and with over 400 sites, it probably gets very busy during the season.
